Did a unicorn throw up on Cardi B’s and Megan Thee Stallion’s curls?

Trust me, it's a compliment.

In 2020, rappers Megan Thee Stallion and Cardi B dropped the “WAP” music video, incidentally inciting a debate over the explicit video while simultaneously creating an instant viral smash hit. And the duo is likely to ruffle some feathers once again on September 8 because they are dropping another joint single, “Bongos.” As we wait for the music, we're busy admiring the cover art, which features both rappers wearing huge curls, the colour of which I can only describe as “unicorn vomits after eating too much cotton candy.”

The rapper definitely made my Monday morning more exciting.

On the 4th September, both rappers announced the single by posting the cover art cover, in which they're glistening head to toe in matching V-neck bodysuits and multicoloured masses of curls atop their heads. Hairstylist Sandrine Diah custom-coloured both curly wigs, but there were several obvious differences. Meg's curls were a colour-blocked combination of hot pink, teal, and mint green. Her ringlets barely grazed her shoulders and were tighter and more voluminous than Cardi B's.

Cardi's curls, on the other hand, featured a more blended variety of pinks, blues, and purples. The longest of Cardi B's purple spirals cascaded toward her lower back while the shorter multi-coloured pieces formed a curly bang.

There are only three days left before “Bongos” drops, so we're setting our alarms to be prepared. If the rappers release a music video (they better), I can only hope these unicorn curls will make another grand appearance.
