Take it from Hailey Bieber, when it comes to our skincare, 2022 is all about glazed donut skin. The model even took to her Instagram recently to give her fans the heads up: “glazed 🍩🍩 skin all 2022. Tell a friend,” she posted, alongside a series of pics showing next-level glossy, glowy skin.

In case you're wondering how she does it, the fourth slide kind of gives the game away. It shows Hailey layering a sheet mask over eye masks while making a call on her phone – which is exactly the sort of multi-tasking we can get on board with.

But, shrewd followers will also know that Hailey previously spilled the entire contents of her skincare routine on a video she posted to her YouTube channel last April. In it she confessed: “my standard when I go to bed at night is that if I'm not getting into bed looking like a glazed donut, then I'm not doing the right thing. Find yourself a moisturiser that helps you look like a glazed donut at the end of the day.”

After double cleansing, with the MARA Beauty Algae Enzyme Cleansing Oil and HoliFrog Tashmoo Water Lily Nourishing Milky Wash, Hailey layers up her skin with the Biba Los Angeles Plant Stem Cell Peptide Serum which she massages into skin while skin is still damp “so that it soaks into my skin a little bit better and dries into my skin,” then presses it in at the very end. "For an easier option to get your hands on in the UK, we recommend Medik8's Liquid Peptide Serum

“At night time, I typically go with a more intense moisturiser – something thicker, just to kind of soak into my skin overnight,” Hailey says, she uses Biba Los Angeles Cream Barrier, but we also love Biossance Squalane + Omega Repair Cream.

Before you go glazing yourself up though, Hailey has one piece of advice: “If I was breaking out on my forehead right now, I wouldn't put a thick moisturiser on my forehead just because I think it can make breakouts worse.” If that's the case for you, opt for a lighter alternative. And apply some spot patches at the end of your skincare routine. Hailey recommends the Starface Hydro-Stars. “They totally help heal a pimple way faster, so if I'm breaking out I will always sleep with one of these on. And they look cute! I'm never mad at a cute little situation,” she says.

Lots of layers is the key to the glazed donut look, so next Hailey heads to a face oil. “I have really sensitive skin that tends to be on the more dry side, so with that being said, usually I add one layer of an oil – again, just for the sake of looking like a glazed donut." She uses Furtuna Skin Due Alberi Biphase Moisturising Oil. "I don't ever do too much, I kind of just pat it into the skin .”

She adds and eye cream – in this case, bareMinerals Ageless Phyto-Retinol Eye Cream. “I'm usually really, really diligent about eye cream because eyes are a sensitive area and I'm trying to prevent getting crows feet, so I really try not to ever skip it,” she says.

The last step “and something I legitimately can't go to bed without doing," is lip balm, says Hailey. “I hate chapped lips, I hate when they feel dry. It's truly one of my biggest pet peeves.” Her balm of choice is refreshingly budget friendly. “My go-to is Aquaphor, it's the best lip balm she says. Plus it comes in handy for any skin maladies. ”If I had really dry, flaky patches anywhere on my skin," like around her nose after a cold, “I would go in and put a little extra Aquaphor on those areas,” says Hailey.

So there you have it, healthy, glowing glazed donut skin is all about layering up your skincare and making sure it's hydrated top to bottom. You heard it from Hailey.
