Megan Fox's “Red Velvet” Bob Is Her Most Daring Hair Transformation Yet

Megan Fox's hair is no stranger to a transformation. The star has served up everything from jet black to Barbie pink and icy white blonde strands over the years – she even teased a wig styled into a shoulder-length ombré bob earlier this year.

Perhaps both set the bar for the dramatic new hair look the Transformers actor debuted on 5 September when she traded in her mermaid-esque, waist-length strands for a bob – and in bright crimson to boot.

In an Instagram post, Dimitris Giannetos, her go-to hair stylist, said “Major hair change for Megan!” before describing how he mixed Lime Crime’s Unicorn Hair dye in Valentine with flaming red shades, while keeping just a whisper of her dark roots visible.

It's a marked deviation from the cowgirl copper, '90s Pammy updo Dimitris created for Megan recently, where her long hair was artfully piled onto her head with two shoulder-skimming, face-framing pieces left loose at the front.

While more subdued burgundy hues have been having a moment this year with stars such as Keke Palmer serving up blackberry braids, Megan Fox's red hue sits more on the cool-toned, vivid end of the spectrum.

Coined the "red velvet" bob by Dimitris, the shade immediately brings out the blue-grey colour of Megan's eyes, which she has ringed with soft brown eyeliner.

Her French bob is also accolade-worthy as the cut is fast becoming an A-list favourite for the season ahead, with Emma Stone opting for a platinum blonde iteration last month.

Rather than a preppy blunt bob, Dimitris created a layered bob with choppy lengths cut through the middle section. Styled in a centre parting with soft waves framing Megan's face, it adds volume but also emphasises the star's razor-sharp cheekbones.

Hands up who's brave enough to recreate the look?
