We all know the 90s was the golden age of the runway — paving the way for the super models of today to follow. It was an era when the world’s most iconic models walked, with powerhouses like Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista and Christy Turlington taking over the industry with their inimitable prowess and personalities.

The intrigue and desire to get a behind-the-scenes look at what life in the fashion world was like back then (the designers, the parties, the models, the glamour) is one that pervades generations, and now we’re finally going to catch a glimpse.

Enter The Super Models: a docuseries looking at the rise of Naomi, Cindy, Linda and Christy in ‘80s and ‘90s New York, an era where the models became as famous as the designers who styled them, and the world was their oyster.

If you’re not already convinced, you’re about to be. The Apple TV+ series is directed by two-time Academy Award winner Barbara Kopple, and will include exclusive interviews with the supermodel quartet, who are also executive producers on the series.

It promises to “revisit their iconic modeling careers and collective disruption of the ‘90s fashion scene” – and we for one cannot wait.

Here's everything we know about The Super Models so far, including plot, cast, release date, and trailer.

What is The Super Models about?

The Super Models promises to explore the “unprecedented and iconic careers” of Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista and Christy Turlington, and how they changed the modelling industry forever — becoming bonafide celebrities in the process.

Through a series of exclusive interviews with the stars, The Super Models will give unparalleled access to and interviews with the supermodels. Apple promises “the ultimate story of power”, exhibiting to the world how the four icons from across the globe were able to come together to create something even bigger.

Speaking to British Vogue, Naomi shared: “It’s about our life and times together: our friendship, careers, our womanhood, our motherhood.”

“As models, we don’t have any rights to our image, so it feels good to be partners on our legacy – and in our own words.”

As the fashion world — and women’s roles within it — continues to evolve, the docuseries promises to dive into how these four women claimed their power, paving the way for the supermodels of the future.

With Naomi, Cindy, Linda and Christy remaining cultural icons today through their activism, philanthropy and business expertise, this is not one to be missed.
